Upper Hunter Brick Show

A number of SydLUG members were recently in attendance at the Upper Hunter Brick Show which is organised and run by Rainbow Bricks LUG in order to raise funds for the Muswellbrook scouts. 22258876126_4733741eb1_zThis was the second year the event has been held and again like last year saw over 1000 people come out to see all the LEGO models on display. The event was a great success and saw it raise much need funds for the scouts. It was a great day catching up with friends and we look forward to going back next year.21663742393_93f9c1484b_z22272059682_c4581c6769_z22284787145_d0c49af3d1_z

About:

About 5 years ago I bought my first Harry Potter set and I’ve been hooked ever since! I love building set and have them all out on display. I’m very excited to be part of SYD Lug and am always awed and inspired by all the builds my fellow members create.

Shellharbour School Fete

SydLUG members recently attended the Shellharbour Public School Fete to assist the school with fundraising for the P + C to benefit children’s education. 10 members set up all manor of great creations from Star Wars to Great Ball contraptions to Vienesse Mansions and much much more. SydLUG members also picked the winners for the students building competition. The task set was to build a home for your minifig and a prize was donated by the school for each of the three age categories! In addition to LEGO key rings donated by SydLUG member Graham as runner up prizes. Parents, grandparents and kids really enjoyed the free entry to the LEGO display. A nice relaxing day with good weather and food was enjoyed by all and we look forward to next years fete with all new building ideas already being imagined. Thanks again to Shellharbour Public school for inviting us to attend and help out.

About:

Profile: I have pretty much had Lego in my life for most if it (in one way or another) but until 18mths ago it was just something that I collected and stored in a room at home. It wasn’t until I branched into the Architecture range that I started to Google different types of builds and also found Bricklink. For the last 12-18mths, I continue to be blown away buy just how large a community the AFOL one is and have enjoyed being apart of it and hopefully this will continue into the future.

About:

I came out of the dark years about 6 year ago and started building technics and Mindstorms sets. I have now expanded into building things that do something or are interactive. I also love the modular building sets for their detail.

About:

I’m a recent convert to Lego, but making up for lost time as fast as I can :D
I like to create moving LEGO. I like to “animate” at least a part of my builds. I really love the interaction with people at the shows, and love seeing the looks on people’s faces when they see your creations.

About:

Unlike most people, I’m not into the normal Lego themes (Star Wars, City, Technic, etc). I enjoy building and displaying military based MOCs and Dioramas with a specialisation in custom military minifigs.
